Essential travel apps for a better trip

Nowadays we always carry our phones no matter where we go especially during vacation.

One of the most amazing things that I especially love while traveling is to take a step back from social media and disconnect from my phone.

It feels so nice and necessary to have time out from the busy and stressful everyday, work, social media, phone calls, and text messages.

However, smartphones can help you during vacation not only for taking pictures but also for navigation, tips, budget planners, and many more.

For all of you who want to use their phone wisely, I made my 10 favorite apps that every traveler should use.

Google Maps

One of the most important things when planning a trip is to plan a route.

This app offers street maps and also route planning for traveling by foot, public transportation, and car.

You can also pin interesting places that you would like to visit such as restaurants, attractions, parks, and museums.

There is an option to draw a line between several destinations and create a route.

This app is user-friendly and very easy to use.

You may want to download the map in advance and then use it without wasting the Internet package and also it is important to mention that the app is free.

Skyscanner

This app will help you find the best fly for you based on comparing all the options for the trip.

Skyscanner is a search engine that can help you book not only flies but hotels and cars.

All you need to do is to fill in specific dates or a range of dates and Skyscanner will show you all kinds of options.

The app is free and user-friendly.

Booking

This app is considered by many travelers to be the most reliable when it comes to reserve places to stay.

It is recommended to use when planning a spontaneous trip.

The app offers different kinds of places to stay in while traveling such as hotels,

apartments, motels, and many other options for all budgets.

One of the best things about this app is that in most cases you can find a free cancelation policy, make sure to read the fine print before signing any contract.

The app is free and user-friendly.

Accuweather

Weather,  I believe, is the most important thing to bring into consideration when you plan a trip.

Traveling outside during a rainy day is not the best idea but if you know when it rains you can plan to visit a museum on that day.

This app shows the weather all over the world.

That app can help you plan what attractions to do every day and what to wear.

Accuweather shows the weather not only for the next day but for 15 days ahead and you can save different locations’ weather at the same time.

This app is accurate and user-friendly.

Googel Translate

A great app for translating words and sentences. Many countries don’t speak English well enough or at all.

To communicate with the local people you have to talk in their language, but what if you don’t know the language?

That is why Google Translate is so useful, you can just tap the sentence you want to say and the app translates it.

Be aware that sometimes the app is not so accurate and the translation can make no sense.

I recommend you to translate from English to any other language and also to write short sentences with no paragraphs, that way the app translates better.

This app is user-friendly and free.

Trip Advisor

This app is a platform for travelers to share their experiences, recommend things, and criticize others. The app rates every place based on the people’s opinion. It is helpful to read from other people’s experiences and opinions while planning a trip.

Make sure to check on other websites as well to see what other people commented, this way you prevent false reviews.

Moreover, you can book a flight, hotel and even make a restaurant reservation via the app.

This app is user-friendly and organized well.

XE Currency

This app is a currency converter calculator.

The app lets you compare an amount of one currency into all other currencies.

Another amazing thing is that the app shows you the conversion rate, this way you can prevent converting money at a higher rate.

This app is user-friendly and also free.

TrabeePocket

This app can help you to plan the amount of money you want to invest on the trip and you can also keep track of your expenses while traveling.

On the app you can run a list of the amount of money you expensed, you can also categorize your list.

You can sort your expenses to the way you paid (cash, check, credit card, or debit card).

This app is user-friendly and free.

Polarsteps

We remember things better when we write them down.

On this app, you can run a diary and write down every memory and every experience you had.  You can also add photos and share your diary with your family and friends.

The thing I love the most about writing a diary is that I can go back to the memories.

Apple Music

This app is a music and video streaming service.

Usually, in order to get to your trip destination, you have to take a flight or drive the way, in my opinion, music can make commuting easier and more exciting.

On Apple music, you can listen to any song you would like, create playlists, add to your profile playlists of your favorite artist, and also listen to other people’s playlists.

The best thing about this app is that you can download all of your playlists in advance to your phone so when commuting you don’t need any WiFi or internet connection.

The app is user-friendly and the users pay a monthly payment.

There are other apps like Spotify that you can definitely use as well.

So especially for you all I made 3 perfect playlists:

Vacation Playlist
Positive vibes
The Big Trip
